To Parma City School District,
I have lived in Parma for 6 years now and all through my life I have come to know the city well with many of my friends being from Parma. I'm no stranger to the money issues Parma City Schools have had and the
trouble they have faced trying to get a levy to pass in the city. I have to ask a serious question now especially after the recent announcements Wednesday April 20th...do you really think you deserve a levy to pass?
Once the signs went up on the lawns of all the Parma City Schools advertising the levy's tagline "It's Critical" we instantly have seen the local Sun paper publish article after article....editorial after editorial about how we must pass the levy. Our children will suffer, our communities will suffer, our businesses will suffer, and our property values will suffer. Now you have threatened our children once again with overcrowded elementary schools and mixing younger less mature 8th graders with 12th graders ready to move on to collage by merging the entire 8th grade into the high schools. Do you not think that all of us parents don't remember what high school was like and how nervous that makes us knowing that children still developing their characters will be mixed in with an element they might not be ready for? As a parent with 3 children in the school system now I have to say your campaign of fear has driven me away from voting for the levy and now I will vote against it. Why, because quite simply I feel you haven't earned it.
