WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Thunderstorms rolled through Washington, D.C., and a photographer captured lightning that looks like it hit very close to the White House. The storm brought several cloud-to-ground lightning strikes along with heavy rain, hail and gusty wind to the nation's capital Sunday night. The photos were shot and posted on the Internet by Eddie Gehman Kohan. He writes that it happened at about 8:30 p.m. EDT. "I took it just as the thought "run!" entered my mind, as the lightning got closer," Kohan writes. "The Easter Egg Roll [Monday] may be quite muddy indeed, because it is still raining an hour and a half later." Obama was on a phone interview with Fox News, when they were abruptly disconnected after he made the statement "may God Himself strike me down where I sit if I tell a lie."
