That's $1,470,000,000,000.00 for just this year and about triple the last (2008) Bush budget deficit! The government is borrowing 41 cents of every dollar it spends. Additional spending, coupled with the decreased tax revenue, added to the already huge budget deficit.

Social Security is a giant ponzi scheme. The money taken from your paycheck is supposed to be invested and earn interest as an annuity. Then, the promise was, when you reach retirement, you draw on that annuity while it continues to earn interest, in theory and over the average, the annuity and life run out at the same time.

With Social Security, however, the money is gone, zero, zippo, zilch! It has been looted by our corrupt Congress for various pork projects and to buy votes. So... when the worker finally reaches retirement his Social Security benefits are paid directly by taxpayers, IOW those who are still working.

If a business owner did this they would lock him up forever, perhaps you have heard of Bernie Madoff?

Now Obama wants to raise the amount taken from your paycheck to cover those corrupt looters in Congress. But not-to-worry, Obama has appointed a commission to find a way to save millions. HA!

Do a little math... Average federal taxes are around $10,000 per taxpayer per year. Take a project below say, Formosan Termite Research, divide it out. It will take 662 Americans paying taxes for a full year to fund this idiocy (or you working for 662 years). Actually, many Americans pay zero taxes (children, jobless, illegals, etc.) so you can probably double that number. 258 taxpayers will work for a year to pay for Swine Odor Research.

Oh... And BTW... Since they are doing this on credit... Your children and grandchildren will pay the tab, Congress wasted your earnings long ago.
