When Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi was Speaker of the House, she said NO to independent (CSPAN) cameras in the House Chamber. NO TRANSPARENCY FOR PELOSI.
Now that Leader Pelosi is out, what does the new Speaker of the House say about independent cameras (CSPAN)? Speaker John Boehner has joined forces with Leader Pelosi -- he, like Leader Pelosi, says NO to independent cameras (CSPAN.) AND NO TRANSPARENCY FOR BOEHNER.
Is transparency just a joke ? (don't answer that!)
Who runs the cameras now? It is not CSPAN but instead Congress (I bet you didn't know that, did you?) Congress decides what you see with their cameras.
If you want transparency (which is essential to democracy), you should demand that your members of Congress go to the Speaker and tell him to change his decision. Remind the members of Congress that they work for us, and represent us.
CSPAN is very responsible and will do a great job as they always do."
